Long-distance move from North Carolina to Washington

Stay away from these idiots!

Never ever uses these guys. They are very sweet to you until they pick up your items and then keep increasing their rates till the point they deliver items to you. My TV was damaged but they took no responsibility for it. Also I was finally billed about 3 times more their initial quote and gave the biggest BS reasons ever! I tried contacting them to pay for the damage costs but they never returned calls.

Long-distance move from New York to Georgia

Never use this company.

The salesman was very friendly and quoted me the price of $800 for the move from a small storage unit. The move was scheduled for pick up on 2/17/2014 but mover vitale could not make scheduled time so u set it up for next day which Norman salesman assured me they would be there at 9:30am first pick up. The mover vitale was very rude and waited until my daughter left and signed inventory paper to call me and charge extra $400 stating I need moving boxes for items that are not in storage bins or boxes. I was very angry as to I know what I have in storage and their manager Nathan was very rude. They never issued a receipt or copy of inventory I called office several times and was told several excuses of delivery. They took my credit card information stating at pick up they will deduct half payment and the remaining balance via po money order at delivery. Manager Nathan was rude each time I called and couldn't give me a time or where my stuff was. Almost a month later they arrived with my things from a different driver and I was told they never took money off my credit card and if I don't pay driver $1200 cash right then he will take my items to a storage facility and I will have to pay them extra $2000 to get them back. They wouldn't let me view my items and at this point I needed the nightmare to be over so I paid the money. As they were moving my things inside my home many items were broken the boxes were wet and I noticed my fireplace big mirror and sectional was missing. They gave me the gate/screen to my fireplace ripped to shreds the mirror missing upholstered headboard broken and a vase that is vintage and family airloom was broken and I only had 4 pieces of it left for memory. Computer broken and wires hanging out and they telling me they don't have a fireplace or mirror on their list maybe it's in boxes. My dining room table is missing and 3 chairs, they only gave me 1 chair. The fireplace cost me almost $1000 and too big to be in a box my sectionial is missing but they gave me the cushions to it. I was told by the new driver Sean to call their office and request they email me a claim form. When I called the very rude manager stated it would be emailed by their insurance company shortly it is now 3/21/14 still no claim form and the only number they have is now being used as a fax. I'm seeking legal action against this company who according to their lic number is not the same name as the company on order form. They are bogus liers thieves and scam artist. Never again I just should've gotten a uhaul n did it myself . I want justice and bbb should shut them down this is ridiculous I can't stop crying. They broke my fish tank and stand and what all my things I did receive its severely broken and damaged.

Long-distance move from Georgia to Florida

I am recommending!!

When I was desperate to find the right movers for my move that time my father-in-law told me to assign them for the move and he also gave me their number. The same day I called 50 states movers  for a quote. They seemed to very confident and they do believed that they would be able to deliver me the best possible service. I liked their quote and assigned them for my move. They proved the decision right by providing an extraordinary move. They completed the move in no time and when I checked the inventory I noticed that all my belongings were in perfect shape and in proper order. I have never experienced such a great combination of speed and accuracy before using 50 states movers . I am very impressed with their service. So I am recommending!!

Long-distance move from South Carolina to Ohio

50 State Movers - worst company ever.

Never use this company since this company will make you be super crazy. As long as they picked up your stuff, they will definitely ask you pay more for delivery. If you do not, they won't deliver your stuff. In addition, they seldom picked up the phone call or picked up and then asked to you to wait more than half hour. This company is the worst one that I have experienced. Do not use this company ever!    .

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Texas

Worst Experience Ever!!

We secured this company for a cross country move from NC to TX, they quoted us one price 1200 but once our things were loaded the price changed 2800. Online and by phone we were quoted one price. Once they loaded our things on the truck the price changed. They acted like they gave us a "discount" once we called them on the original contract. Then Thy told us our stuff would arrive within fourteen days. That turned into 21 full days after giving us an original delivery date and changing it three times. They were Impossible to get a hold of. When they finally arrived the whole company was different so even though I secured a travelers check in order to pay for my services so that I would have a receipt. They informed me that they were a different company and I would have to cash the travelers check and get cash! Not even moving one item until I returned from the bank. DO NOT USE this company!

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Florida

Do NOT use this company.

The company was very friendly and helpful at the beginning of the moving experience. The salesperson gave me a $100 discount for being a teacher and quoted me $1700 for my move. I was pleased with the price and found it somewhat comparable. The driver picked up the furniture  when he stated he would and was in constant communication before the pick up. That was where the good news ended. The foreman at the job did not go over any possible extra costs at the beginning of the move. He directed his men to put the couch cushions in boxes, which I learned later I was charged $50 a piece for the boxes. These boxes also took more room on the truck which increased my cost to nearly THREE times the original quote. However, no one during this time informed me of any possible overage. When they left, I was in tears. I called a couple of days later to arrange a payment and was given bank account information for which I could wire money. When I called the bank to verify the business account (thankfully before I wired the money), the banker told me it was someone's personal account. I called back and asked for a manager who said it would be dealt with and gave me a legitimate account. After all of this, the movers took nearly a month to deliver my furniture. During this wait time, I called nearly every day, sometimes 10 times a day. No one answered the phone on most occassions. Some days, they would give me a date and time for delivery and then never show up. When they finally arrived, they gave 3 hours notice before dropping off my items. Some of my items were wet and dirty, and my $500 dining room table top is supposedly missing. I WILL NEVER USE MOVERS AGAIN, particulary not 50 States Movers, who swindle, lie and cheat their way to money.

Long-distance move from Florida to Virginia

Do Not Use.

This company SUCKS I contracted them in November it is now Jan and I still do not have my furniture. They lied several times was told initially 3-5 day delivery.  Did not happen then I was told would have by thanksgiving., another Lie. Then my mother got sick so I called and let them know I would not be available for delivery when they wanted to come.  They came to deliver anyway then threated me.  Because my mom was in hospice and I could not be home.  So then they told me they were putting my stuff in storage and I must send them the balance so they could tell me what storage they were using.  I refused to send money not knowing  the condition of my furniture.  So then they threated to auction off my furniture so I said ok then thank you I am still not sending money in the blind.  Then he suggested er deliver for another 1500.00 dollars.  I still have not seen furniture.  They also bait and switch and stole items I wanted to leave in my original storage.  I am currently in process of seeking legal action and would be interested in starting class action suit with others.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to California

Do Not Use This Company Ever!!

Like many of the other reviewers, I was sucked in by the salesman, Scott, who was a real sweet talker. I didn't have much stuff at all - it was just enough that it would have been inconvenient to ship. Had I known I was going to have to suffer through what I have for the past two months, I would have rented a U-Haul and driven accross the country myself. This company is full of dishonest crooks and deserves to be SHUT DOWN!
I booked my move from New Jersey to California scheudled to be picked up on December 2nd with the 1st available delivery date as December 21st. Before I begin, I will say that I realize that a minimal move accross the country is difficult and expensive for any company - I completely understood that it could and probably would take quite some time; all I was looking for was an honest delivery date.
To make a long story short, after weeks of calling and being assured that my stuff was "on it's way," "being packed on the truck," "will be there early next week," I finally got my stuff 58 days after the original pickup date. My frustration isn't even with the long wait, it is with the dispatch office. They were extremely dishonest and unhelpful through the whole process. My personal favorites were "if you want your stuff so bad, I will text you the address and you can come pick it up in Atlanta" (when I had my father call and ask for the address so we could book another mover to bring it to Cali, the employee wouldn't give it to him) and "your stuff DEFINITELY left Atlanta on Friday" (when I called the following Tuesday, it was still in the storage facility in Atlanta). Each time I called and asked why I was being given different answers, the 50 States employee said "I don't know."
This company is full of LIARS and CROOKS - DO NOT USE THEM for your move. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
I read these reviews before my move and thought "eh, they can't be THAT bad." TRUST ME, THEY ARE THAT BAD. .

Long-distance move from Virginia to Georgia

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER Use this Company.

The salesman, Scott, was a very smooth talker, quoted a low ball price for loading, taking bed down, complete set up at the new place. The pickup was supposed to be on Thursday morning, they showed up after a 30 min notice on Wednesday afternoon. (They originally called and wanted to come at 11:00 at night to load and were refused.) The price has risen by almost 75% more than what was quoted. The furniture and boxes were guaranteed to be delivered on the following Monday by 12:00.  We had carefully planned the timing since it was close to Christmas.  Monday came no furniture no phone call, when we called them they claimed they ran into bad weather and would not be able to get there until Wednesday at 12:00 noon.  Wednesday came, no furniture, no phone call - we called around 5:00 PM and were told that the truck had broken down and been in the shop and they had just loaded our furniture back on and would be there Thursday.  Thursday came no phone call, no furniture - we called and the dispatcher, Justin, refused to call us back -  so we called the salesman Scott  who said there was nothing he could do about it and when we reminded him that he had promised to have the furniture there four days earlier he said "Stress kills, you should just chill out.", so we began to call from different phone numbers and finally got Justin - who said he was sick of us calling everyday - when we explained we were calling because no one was communicating with us - he became very beligerent and at first said he would give us the phone number of the driver, because we asked where our furnishings were - then he got mad and refused to give us the number.  A family member called back and Justin finally gave him the number.  The driver said the furniture would be delivered Sunday or Monday.  On Friday afternoon he called back and said he would be there first thing Sunday morning.  We had gone an hour and a half away to stay with family since we didn't have any furniture and asked him to give us notice when he was actually going to arrive because we needed to drive there.  On Saturday we got a call from the driver saying he would be there Sunday afternoon around 5:00 or Monday morning.  He finally came at 4:30 on Monday afternoon and said he couldn't get the moving van into the complex.  We had to go rent a U-Haul - he left and said he would be back after he made another stop.  We got the U-Haul and were back in just a few minutes - He didn't get back for two hours - the furniture was loaded into the U-Haul and he left.  We had to unload the U-Haul and take the furniture up several flights of steps.  We also had to hire a local man to help us take the furniture up the steps. This experience has been a nightmare.  We have NEVER dealt with a more unethical company. We have not yet inspected the items so we don't yet know if anything is broken, dirty or missing.

Worst company!!

Please stay clear from this company!! They are very unprofessional!! Their customer service sucks! I'm still dealing with them concerning a claim for broken items from my delivery. Please note delivery was set for aug1st.. We are now in October, and I'm still dealing with these people. I've spoken to a few lawyers, and I am ready to file a lawsuit against them if they do not resolve my claim issues.
